About Us
Simply Bee Conservation restores pollinator health and biodiversity through ecological design, research, and education that reconnect communities to the living systems sustaining agriculture and the wild. Our work builds resilient habitats—linking pollinator corridors, native plant gardens, and regenerative farms—to strengthen ecosystems and ensure a thriving future for bees and people alike.
Our Work
The Melissae Project
Restoring the Wild Home of the Honey Bee with Honey Bee Log Hives
We install Honey Bee Log Tree Nests—natural hollows carved into logs that invite wild honey bees to return to the kind of home they evolved with. In their native European forests, Apis mellifera lived high in hollow trees, surrounded by fungi, microbes, beetles, and other organisms that worked together in harmony. These thriving micro-ecosystems supported balance: even tiny insects helped keep parasitic mites in check, while decaying wood and tree life created a living, breathing environment around the colony.
Modern beekeeping often removes bees from this web of life—placing them in sterile boxes, far from the natural relationships that keep them healthy. Our log hives bring back that lost relationship between the bee and the forest. Each installation becomes more than a home—it’s an ecological restoration project in miniature, reconnecting pollinators to the cycles of decay, renewal, and biodiversity that sustain all life.
✔ Nature-based learning, how does the earth tend the bees.
✔ Create a living classroom for education, workshops, mytho-poetric story telling, ritual, and apitherapy.
✔ Allow safe spaces where wild bees can rebreed themselves into health away from commercial beekeeping practices.
✔ Research the effects of wild honey bee populations on native bee and native flora populations.
✔ Research the effects of Log hives on agricultural land

Courtney Cosgriff CN, CCH, Founder of Honeybee Herbals
iCourtney is an herbalist, beekeeper, earth tender, and teacher based in the mountains of Colorado. Her work is rooted in a deep reverence for nature and its wisdom. Courtney has been working with the bees and plants for thirteen years through various personal and community projects. She is truly a student and devotee of the earth who has devoted her life to reviving earth based wisdom and traditions. Alex DeCesaro, Founder of Alma Apiary
In her own words, "The bees came to me in a moment of divine timing. What seemed like a small spark of curiosity about bees and their role in the world has led me down the road to what I now know to be my life’s work. Through the bees I aim to be a steward of the one true Mother, to harness and respect life and offer my services to help heal the Earth. The name for my company- Alma - means soul in Spanish. This is a representation for the work that deeply feeds and nourishes my soul, and I hope to bring reciprocity into the world of the bees and give back what they have given me."

Tyler Stellern, Founder of Simply Bee Conservation
The Bees have kept him for over 20 years as he has worked to tend and create an abundance of connected biodiverse eco-systems and community education to support thriving populations of Native Bees and Ecologically Harmonious Naturalized Apis Milleara (European Honey Bees). Former natural products CFO fell under a deep spell sung by the bees. Like a siren's song he has bravely thrown himself overboard into the tumultuous sea of the unknown to "Save the Bees".
Lyons Bee City & Neighborhood Pollinator Corridor Project

Building a Template for Pollinator Friendly Towns
SBC has spearheaded Bee City Certification in Lyons Colorado. Approved by the Lyons Board of Trustees 11/3/25. Official certification is expected Q4 2025 to Q1 2026. The Town of Lyons will be our template of how to create a Pollinator Friendly town to use as we replicate this program nationwide.
✔ Approved Town Resolution
✔ Town of Lyons supports pollinators officially
✔ Commitment to an Integrated Pest Management system
✔ Committed to NO Poisonous pesticides or herbicides
✔ Commitment to a native Pollinator Planting
✔ Commitment to one Pollinator Event a year
✔ Certified by Xercies Society

Neighborhood Pollinator Corridor Project
Neighbors coming together to create one or many pollinator habitat gardens supported by SBC to add to Lyons' Community Pollinator Corridor.
Our Goals:
✔ Garden Assessment and Pollinator Certification Program
✔ Community workshops and Education
✔ Demo Gardens as living classrooms
Colorado Community Garden Pollinator Cooperation Project & Native Plant Nursery

Simply Bee Conservation's Native Plant Nursery
Simply Bee Conservation organically grows native plants to support our community garden projects and native habitat restoration efforts.
We design and sell Ready-to-Plant Native Gardens. Each Professionally designed and mapped garden is 100% chemical-free, water-wise, fire-wise, and low-maintenance, thoughtfully curated for beauty, resilience, and ecological harmony.
These ready-to-plant gardens make it simple for neighbors to welcome nature home again—supporting pollinators and adding beauty and life to every yard and street.
Native Bee Agri-'cultural' revolution Project
Partnering with farmers, ranchers, and land stewards to weave native bee habitats into regenerative agricultural design.
By integrating nature’s architecture back into working lands, we help restore pollinator diversity, soil health, and ecological resilience. These habitats may take many forms—pasture swale pollinator zones, blooming wildflower strips, hedgerows, and open meadows—each one transforming farmland into a thriving mosaic of productivity and life.
Together, we’re supporting a new agri-cultural movement: one rooted in reciprocity between people, pollinators, and the land.

Together, these practices create vibrant working landscapes that feed both people and pollinators—restoring the ecological balance that agriculture depends on.
How We Work With Agricultural Partners:
Diversifying Cropping Systems and Floral Resources
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) & Pesticide Reduction
We promote ecological pest control strategies that reduce chemical use and protect beneficial insects.
Providing Nesting and Shelter Opportunities
Pollinators need more than flowers—they need safe places to live and reproduce. We guide farms in simple, effective ways to create nesting habitats for native bees and other beneficial insects.
Innovative Polyculture Systems
We support emerging agroecological systems—like agroforestry and permaculture—that blend flowering trees, shrubs, and understory plants to provide year-round habitat and continuous blooms.
